Dr. Serge Fobofou is an Assistant Professor and Principal Scientist at Sonoran University of Health Sciences. He received his PhD (summa cum laude) in chemistry at the Leibniz Institute of Plant Biochemistry (IPB) and Martin-Luther University Halle-Wittenberg (Germany). He worked on the isolation and structure elucidation, chemical synthesis, and metabolomic analyses of bioactive compounds from medicinal plants. He was a Feodor Lynen fellow (AvH) at Harvard Medical School in Boston, where he conducted his postdoctoral research working on small molecules from microbiomes. He also held teaching or/and research positions at TU Braunschweig (Institute of Pharmacy, Germany) and Baylor College of Medicine/Texas Children’s Hospital. His research interest has been the discovery and applications of medicinally relevant compounds from plants and microbiome interactions.
