Favorite thing about Sonoran
There are a substantial number of reasons why I love being a student at Sonoran! Sonoran is the only Naturopathic Medical School I applied to. From the moment I walked on campus, I knew this is where I belong. Throughout the application and interview process, I was blown away with the friendliness and sense of welcoming I received from all of the Admissions staff and students at Sonoran. Now, as a second-year student, I have never experienced an academic environment that offers as much support and genuine care towards students, as Sonoran does. The professors genuinely want to help students and guide us towards becoming successful physicians. Additionally, my classmates are some of the kindest, most passionate individuals I have had the pleasure of meeting. Sonoran students focus heavily on teamwork and less on competition, which is a quality I looked for when applying to Medical School and sincerely appreciate now as a student. Without the community environment that Sonoran and the students who study here offer, Medical School would be a lot lonelier and much more difficult. I am grateful every day to be a student at Sonoran.

Favorite restaurant or hangout near campus
One of my favorite restaurants is Green New American Vegetarian! This is an awesome vegan and gluten free-friendly restaurant with a close location in Scottsdale. They have vegan “junk food” and offer delicious sandwiches and tacos with meat substitutes, “cheese” fries, buffalo “wings,” vegan ice-cream, etc.! This is my favorite place to eat and hangout when I want a tasty treat!

Campus involvement
In addition to being a Student Ambassador, I am a Tutor for the DDC, Anatomy Lab TA, FWS student for the Financial Aid Office, Applied Kinesiology club member, student in the Applied Kinesiology 100-hour course, and a Peer Mentor!

Something unique about you
I was raised in town with less than 5,000 people! There is only one elementary school, one junior high, and one high school for my entire school district. I loved growing up in a small town and close-knit environment.

Modality/population area of interest
I am open to many modalities and have yet to determine where I want to focus my area of interest as a Naturopathic Physician in the future. However, I am extremely passionate towards learning more about Applied Kinesiology, Nutrition, Homeopathy, Botanical Medicine, Physician Medicine, Acupuncture, and Pranic Healing. I see myself incorporating multiple modalities in my future practice of medicine!
