About Our Expert


Amita Nathwani, MA (Ayurveda) is a practitioner, author, and educator with over 25 years of clinical experience in Ayurvedic Medicine. She received her foundational training at the Maharishi School of Ayurveda and Sanskrit Studies in Bangalore, India, and completed her advanced studies at Maharishi International University in the United States.

Amita has dedicated her career to bridging the gap between traditional Ayurvedic education and its modern clinical application. Her teaching approach emphasizes the integration of classical Ayurvedic principles with evidence-based health care practices, helping providers translate ancient concepts into accessible, patient-centered care.

In addition to maintaining a private practice in Tucson, Arizona, Amita serves as Fellowship Faculty at the Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona and teaches at several acupuncture and integrative medicine schools across the U.S. She is the author of multiple books exploring Ayurveda, spirituality, and the intersections of health and consciousness.

Through her clinical work, writing, and teaching, Amita continues to advance the dialogue between Ayurveda and modern medicine—encouraging a truly integrative approach that honors both scientific inquiry and timeless wisdom.
