Tempe, Ariz. – Sonoran University of Health Sciences is excited to announce The Homeopathic Academy of Naturopathic Physicians Dimitriadis Literature Collection, a digital library comprised of more than 481 gigabytes of original source material, which translates to nearly 62,000 documents of original homœopathic literature. The collection is completely free for any individual to access at homeopathy.sonoran.edu.
“Delivering this incredibly important digital library to you was no small feat but well worth the hours of work from many to make these primary sources available to the homeopathic profession at our fingertips,” said Dr. Elizabeth Rice, ND, DHANP, Sonoran University Associate Professor, Department Chair of Homeopathy and Pharmacology, and the project’s lead. “This literature collection is a rich resource for homœopathic practitioners and scholars. As homœopaths, we should pursue accurate citations, examine original provings and toxicology reports to ensure the accuracy of our medicine and prescriptions. Providing the homeopathic community access to this literature collection will encourage excellence amongst the profession and save hours of researching these titles individually.”
The collection was made possible by George Dimitriadis BSc, DHom, DHomMCCH(Eng), FHom(UK), FJPHMA (Jpn), FHISyd, who devoted the majority of his life’s work to collecting these documents. Dimitriadis has spent the better part of the past 20 years collecting PDF copies of original works as part of his own research project to methodically update and correct errors in Samuel Hahnemann’s, the founder of homeopathic medicine, primary texts, which he has entitled Materia Medica Hahnemannica. He generously donated his literature collection to the HANP, which in turn decided to gift the collection to Sonoran University of Health Sciences and the Department of Homeopathy and Pharmacology.
The Henry I Klopp Homeopathic Trust provided the grant funding to make this collection accessible to the public. The Henry I. Klopp Trust Grant Advisory Board, Susanne Saltzman, MD, Ron Whitmont, MD and Todd Hoover, MD, DHt., have committed themselves to reviewing and funding various homeopathic educational and research projects across the nation. Sonoran University is grateful for the generosity created by Henry I. Klopp and for the advisory board’s recognition of the important work the Sonoran University homeopathy department has chosen to undertake.
