Dr. M. Reza Mirbolooki has been a scientist and an educator since 2000. Dr. Mirbolooki’s research focuses on obesity and diabetes with a high interest in pancreatic islets and brown adipose tissue and their critical roles in glucose homeostasis. Dr. Mirbolooki has more than 15 years of experience in the field of pancreatic islet transplantation. He has published more than 35 peer-reviewed articles and seven scholarly textbook chapters in diabetes and obesity. Also, he holds a patent on the treatment of obesity by targeting potassium channels in brown fat. Dr. Mirbolooki also has more than 20 years of teaching experience in Biological Sciences at both undergraduate and graduate levels. He has developed and taught traditional and online courses in human anatomy, physiology, genetics, general biology, human biology, nutrition, cell and molecular biology, microbiology, biochemistry, research methodology, and evidence-based medicine.
Dr. Mirbolooki teaches gastrointestinal physiology and pathophysiology courses.
