How does Sonoran innovate?

Sonoran has the only accredited, full-time, four-year Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine degree program in the Southwest. Our industry-leading curriculum consists of rigorous academic study and extensive supervised clinical experiences in a variety of settings, including our on-site Medical Center and Neil Riordan Center for Regenerative Medicine. In addition to exposure to the widest scope of naturopathic therapies, you will also learn the same basic sciences as you would in a conventional medical program.

…in a state that gives naturopathic doctors one of the largest patient care toolboxes.

Sonoran’s Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine degree program curriculum reflects Arizona’s large scope of practice for naturopathic doctors (one of the largest in the United States). This scope includes acupuncture, pharmacology, minor surgery, homeopathy, clinical nutrition, injection therapy, botanical medicine, hydrotherapy, dermatology, and more.

…to support non-invasive medical treatments.

The Research Department at Sonoran works with the Ric Scalzo Institute for Botanical Research. Students are given opportunities to conduct research side-by-side with faculty and clinical staff on botanicals and natural therapies in effort to bridge the gap between traditional and evidence-based medicine providing a thorough understanding of how a treatment can affect a patient’s outcome.

…by providing free healthcare to those who do not have access while gaining extensive hands-on clinical experience.

Sage Foundation’s Community Clinics allow students the opportunity to diversify their clinical experiences while providing free healthcare to underserved communities throughout Maricopa County.

…at Sonoran where students have outscored the average all-school pass rate for licensing exams since 2016.

Sonoran takes pride in ensuring that our students have the strongest foundation for success when taking the licensing exams.

My Definition of Naturopathic Medicine

“My go-to phrase has always been old-school medicine. Naturopathic medicine is not necessarily new, it is based on concepts of comprehensive approaches to medicine and care.”
